"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."— Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
When Life Doesn't Go According to Plan
Have you ever felt like everything was falling apart?
You pray, yet the answer doesn't come.
You work hard, but opportunities seem to pass you by.
You trust God, yet the path ahead still feels uncertain.
During seasons like these, it's easy to ask:
"God, where are You?"
You're not alone.
Throughout the Bible, faithful men and women experienced moments when life didn't make sense. Yet through every trial, God remained faithful.
The same God who walked with Joseph in prison, Daniel in the lions' den, and Paul through persecution is still walking with you today.
Even when you can't see His hand, you can trust His heart.
1. Remember That God Sees the Bigger Picture
We often judge our lives by what we see today.
God sees tomorrow.
He knows the beginning and the end.
What feels like a delay to us may be God's perfect preparation.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.— Isaiah 55:8–9 (NIV)
Trust begins where understanding ends.
2. Hold on to God's Promises
Circumstances change.
God's promises do not.
When fear tries to take over, return to Scripture.
Fill your heart with God's truth instead of your worries.
His Word provides hope when everything else feels uncertain.
3. Keep Praying, Even When You Don't See Results
Prayer isn't only about receiving answers.
It's about growing closer to God.
Some prayers are answered immediately.
Others require patience.
Never mistake God's silence for His absence.
He is always at work, even when you cannot see it.
4. Choose Faith Over Fear
Fear asks,
"What if everything goes wrong?"
Faith asks,
"What if God is working behind the scenes?"
Every day gives us the opportunity to choose which voice we'll believe.
God calls us to walk by faith, not by sight.
5. Remember God's Faithfulness
Think back to previous seasons in your life.
Has God ever abandoned you?
Probably not.
He has carried you through challenges before.
He will do it again.
Reflecting on God's past faithfulness gives us confidence for the future.
🌿 INLIGHTEN Reflection
Ask yourself today:
Am I trusting God only when life makes sense, or am I trusting Him because He is faithful?
Faith doesn't mean having all the answers.
Faith means believing God is good, even when the path is unclear.

Heavenly Father,
Sometimes life feels confusing, and it's hard to understand what You're doing.
Help me to trust You even when I cannot see the whole picture.
Replace my fear with faith and my anxiety with Your peace.
Remind me daily that Your plans are good and that You are always working for my good and Your glory.
Teach me to depend on You and to walk confidently in Your promises.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
